Eye of Eden Guide: Statues & Weekly Candles

Published September 2026

Eye of Eden is Sky: Children of the Light's endgame realm — a linear, three-part gauntlet that opens once you've cleared the five main realms and watched each Elder's cutscene. The first time through, it's a one-shot story sequence. After that, it becomes a replayable weekly area built around 63 statues and a shared Ascended Candle payout, per a community-maintained Steam guide. Here's how the mechanics actually work.

Getting In

  • All five main realms completed, plus their Elder cutscenes
  • At least 20 Winged Light carried in to enter — guides consistently recommend going in at the 108 max instead, since that light is what you'll be spending inside
  • Co-op partners strongly recommended for first-timers: the run is built around storms, Dark Dragons, rock rain and light-draining polluted water that are rough solo

The 63 Statues & Weekly Candle Math

Ascended Candles per statue0.25
Theoretical weekly max (63 × 0.25)15.75, commonly rounded to 16

Each statue only lights up once per week — not once per run — so you can re-enter Eden multiple times in the same week to mop up statues you missed, rather than needing one perfect single clear. Candles are paid out after you finish the run and return home, not statue-by-statue in real time. These numbers show up consistently across guides going back several years, but thatgamecompany has adjusted Eden's internals before (wind intensity, charging spots, light bugs), so treat the statue count and candle math as accurate for recent versions rather than permanently fixed.

Winged Light: Spending It, Not Just Collecting It

Winged Light usually works one way in Sky — permanent Children-of-Light collectibles scattered through every realm that raise your cape level for good, including a handful commonly cited as around 10 hidden inside Eden itself. Inside Eden's statue run, it also works a second way: the Winged Light you've already accumulated (up to that 108 cap) becomes a spendable resource you deposit into the 63 statues to trigger the candle payout. That deposited light is consumed for the run — it's not a new permanent stat, it's spending what you brought in.

Shortcuts vs. Speedrunning

"Shortcut" in Eden guides usually means practical movement tech for the weekly grind — climbing around the early rock-rain section instead of waiting it out, or catching a strong wind current to skip ahead (this one needs at least 5 cape wedges). That's a different thing from Eden's dedicated speedrunning scene, which tracks Single Player, Co-op, and no-flap categories with optimized clears landing around the 3-minute mark. Most players doing a normal weekly candle run aren't trying to replicate speedrun routes — the practical shortcuts alone are enough to make the run noticeably faster.

Where the Candles Go

Eye of Eden and red shard eruptions are the game's two main sources of Ascended Candles. Those candles get spent on Wing Buffs, Elder unlocks back in the main realms (see how Elder pricing works), and Traveling Spirit purchases — see Wax vs Ascended Candles for how that currency differs from regular Candles.

FAQ

What is Eye of Eden in Sky: Children of the Light?
Eye of Eden is the game's endgame realm, unlocked after completing the five main realms and their Elder cutscenes. It's a linear gauntlet that ends with your character sacrificing accumulated Winged Light — after that first completion, it becomes a replayable weekly area for earning Ascended Candles.

How many Ascended Candles can you get from Eye of Eden per week?
63 statues, each worth a quarter of an Ascended Candle when lit, for a commonly cited weekly maximum of 15.75 — often rounded to 16 in community guides. Each statue only pays out once per week.

When does Eye of Eden reset?
Sunday 00:00 Sky time (America/Los_Angeles), the same moment as Sky's general weekly reset. Statues already lit that week won't pay out again until then.
